A Dallas–Fort Worth native, Dr. Azhar brings a wealth of expertise in general, complex medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She completed her residency as Chief Resident at the University of Oklahoma and her internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, bringing an exceptional level of training and academic rigor to her practice.

Medical School and Residency
Dr. Aaminah Faheem Azhar is a board-certified dermatologist who completed her residency in Dermatology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She earned her Doctor of Medicine with Honors Distinction from Texas A&M University School of Medicine and completed her transitional year internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Press, Publications, and Awards
Dr. Azhar has been recognized for her academic excellence and leadership throughout her medical training and career. She earned her Doctor of Medicine with Honors Distinction and was inducted into the highly selective Alpha Phi Omega Honor Society. Prior to medical school, she graduated magna cum laude with Latin Honors from UT Arlington. During her dermatology residency, Dr. Azhar served as Chief Resident and as a member of the Resident Council, where she contributed to initiatives in education, quality improvement, and patient safety. She also wrote for the Cutis Resident Corner, publishing educational articles for dermatology trainees nationwide. In addition, she has advanced dermatologic scholarship through numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national meetings.
Presentations/Organizations
Dr. Azhar has shared her expertise through lectures and poster presentations at regional and national meetings, including the Oklahoma State Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery Society and the American Academy of Dermatology. She also presented a summary of key educational insights at the 2023 Mark Allen Everett Skin of Color Symposium and remains an active member of the Skin of Color Society.
Community
Dr. Azhar has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service through volunteering at community dermatology clinics, where she supported patients from underserved backgrounds while gaining insight into their barriers to care. She has also engaged in educational programs that inspire high school students from underserved communities to pursue careers in healthcare and introduced elementary school children to the possibilities of healthcare professions. Through these efforts, Dr. Azhar has worked to both improve access to care and foster the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Family
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Azhar enjoys an active and fulfilling life centered around family, travel, and recreation. She is a skier and pickleball enthusiast, and she loves exploring new destinations and hiking scenic trails. At home, she finds joy
in reading, relaxing with her husband, and spending time with their two beloved cats.
